The mission of the Department of Economics is to develop the ability of our students to understand economic concepts and the skills to apply those concepts to the making of intelligent decisions for themselves, in business life, and in public policy ultimately to increase the GDP of the nation and improve the standard of living for the people.
- To enable graduates provide advice to effectively manage the limited resources of the nation.
- To train prospective students intellectually to take up the challenge of ensuring even allocation of resources.
- To enable students develop critical thinking skills which helps them to be creative in the economics field.
The graduates’ degree will help them to develop skills such as numeracy, analysis, verbal and written communication, problem solving and presentation that facilitate winning jobs faster in the wider range.
