Support for American-Style Higher Education in Iraq

On May 4, 2022, under the grant entitled “Support for American-Style Higher Education in Iraq ” awarded by the U.S. Department of State, a delegation from the Catholic University in Erbil (CUE) headed by Mrs. Vida Hanna, the Director of Public Affairs and Strategic Communications, and Mr. Scott Lloyd, the Program Director of E-Learning, was accompanied by Dr. Daniel Kempton, the Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS) and Dr. Tiffany Boury, the Coordinator of Global Academic Partnerships to visit the campus of Walsh University (WU) in Ohio.
The delegation was welcomed by the Chief of Staff at WU, Dr. Rachel Hosler, and had a productive meeting with the President, Dr. Tim Collins, and Dr. Mike Dunphy, the Vice President of Academic Affairs. This was followed by a series of meetings with Directors, Chairs, and various Provosts at Walsh University.
Both institutions will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding to develop academic opportunities and collaborate on implementing joint activities. Additionally, Mrs. Hanna presented a CUE shield to the President of WU, Dr. Collins, as a token of appreciation and a cornerstone for establishing endeavors that would better serve both communities on a larger scale.
