Graduation Ceremony of the English Language Course

On Tuesday 30 July 2019, Life-Long Learning Center at the Catholic University in Erbil have just concluded another summer Basic Level Course for English language.
An end-of-course celebration was held on the occasion which was attended by the Chancellor of the university Dr. Sabah al-Maleh and the teaching staff at the center.

At the beginning of the celebration, Dr. Sabah al-Maleh stressed the importance of boosting relations between the CUE and the community at large, both in Ankawa and Erbil, through running various educational and teaching programmes that sever the needs of the community. He expressed the university’s readiness to provide all possible means of helping the community make use of the expertise and potential of the CUE as a non-profit higher education institution.

The students were positively impressed by the progress that they made. The class included teenagers, university students as well as older adults. They all praised their teachers and unanimously agreed that this was the first time in their lives that they had felt so much fun in the classroom. The class was very communicative giving students a chance to really get to know each other and their teachers. Participants said that they appreciated the fact that grammar was taught deductively in an entertaining manner. The atmosphere in the classroom was more like a group of friends getting together for entertainment but of course with a serious purpose.
At the end of the celebration participants were awarded with graduation certificates.

The course was presented by: Robert Majure, an American English Teacher.
