Hadyab Society for Competencies hold their 4th symposium at CUE

On March 25, the Catholic University in Erbil hosted the Hadyab Society for Competencies’ 4th symposium.

The event was held under the topic Social Media: Side Effects and Solutions. But the discussion also touched on cybersecurity, data encryption and health concerns in telecommunications.

One of CUE’s visiting lecturers, Dr. Raghad Zuhair Yousif, gave a lecture about protection from malware and ensuring data privacy. Dr. Raghad holds a PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Technology in Baghdad.

Summing up what she learned, Saly Salim Auffee, one of CUE students present, underlined that it is important to understand the risks associated with the ever popular social media.

Four of the Hadyab Society for Competencies founding members, Asst. Prof. Dr. Riadh Francis, Asst. Prof. Habib Hanna, Asst. Prof. Samir Khorani and Ms. Muna Youkhanna, are on the Catholic University in Erbil’s Board of Trustees. Mr. Aziz Emmanuel, the Vice President of the Hadyab Society for Competencies, is a lecturer at CUE.
