Job Summary:
The Pharmacognosy faculty member is responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of pharmacognosy, including natural products, medicinal plants, and phytochemistry. The role involves developing and delivering course materials, conducting research, supervising student projects, and contributing to curriculum development.
Essential Duties:
- Demonstrate expertise in pharmacognosy, phytochemistry and phytotherapy.
- Participate in scientific activities and services for the pharmacy department and university, including research activities.
- Collaborate with the administration and faculty to ensure the smooth and successful operation of the pharmacy program.
Essential Qualification:
- Post-graduate degree or PhD in Pharmacognosy from a recognized university with a minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience after obtaining the qualifying degree.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacognosy laboratory techniques.
- Effective teaching, communication, and presentation skills in English.
Desirable Qualification:
- Teaching experience in pharmacognosy is strongly encouraged to apply.
- Proven experience in securing and managing research grants.
- Research publications in reputable journals.
