November 9, 2021| CUE News

On Monday, November 8, the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, represented by the department head, Dr. Firas Al-Mukhtar, and under the direct sponsorship of the President of the University, Assist. Prof. Dr. Riadh Francis, with the presence of the Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Iqbal Gorgis, opened the Arduino lab for students of the aforementioned department for all stages. This joyous occasion was attended by a number of respected department heads and a group of university academics.

Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs – light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message – and turn it into an output – activating a motor, turning on an LED, publishing something online.

This is why, all students in the computer science and information technology departments will profit greatly from the establishment of this lab, which is regarded as a landmark for the Catholic University of Erbil among other universities.
