Awarding ceremony for CUE students

On Tuesday, 25th May 2022, The Catholic University in Erbil (CUE), has organized a Ceremony to award the students who have successfully completed the online courses provided in partnership with the Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS) in Ohio, USA.

The awarding ceremony was attended by the President of CUE, Assist. Prof. Dr. Riadh Francis, the Executive Vice-Chancellor for Administration, Rev. Fr. Dankha Joola, The Assist. Prof. Dr. Iqbal Gorgis Vice- President for Scientific Affairs. The ceremony was also attended by Vice President of Franciscan Life, Rev. Fr. Jonathan St. Andre, The Director of Catholic Leadership, Associated Prof. of Education, Dr. Tiffany Boury, along with students of FUS.

More than 25 of the CUE students were able to participate and complete the online course delivered by the FUS in the following fields: Business Analysis, Business Professional Writing, Business Analysis, Elementary French I, Financial Accounting, and Principles of Marketing.

Two of the CUE students have delivered a speech on the impact and the benefit of the online course. Further, the students were able to obtain more skills and knowledge upon completing the classes. Both Maryam and Hamza thanked CUE and FUS for the support and for providing these opportunities to boost students’ abilities.

This collaboration comes as the dedication of the CUE to offering professional training, learning, and development opportunities, as part of the Capacity Building project and the generous support of the U.S. Department of State’s Near Eastern Affairs Bureau (NEA/AC).
