CUE and Amideast Iraq Complete TENNS Program for Faculty Members

The Catholic University in Erbil (CUE), in collaboration with Amideast Iraq, completed the Teaching in English to Non-Native English Speakers (TENNS) Program for faculty members. The 48-hour professional development program aimed to strengthen faculty members’ capacity and confidence in teaching non-native English-speaking students through the medium of English.

A total of 10 faculty members successfully completed the training, which focused on enhancing academic communication, classroom management, and effective teaching strategies for ESL learners.
The final session was held on May 19, 2026, where participants delivered presentations reflecting on their learning experiences and the key outcomes of the program.
Certificates were awarded at the end of the session in recognition of their successful completion of the training.
This initiative reflects CUE’s commitment to its mission of providing high-quality, student-centered education and fostering academic excellence.

By equipping faculty members with advanced teaching skills for diverse learning environments, the TENNS Program supports the university’s vision of preparing graduates to thrive in an increasingly globalized world while promoting inclusivity, innovation, and effective communication across cultures.
The program also reinforces CUE’s dedication to continuous professional development and the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning.
