CUE Business Management Department Hosts Seminar on Publishing in Scopus-Indexed Journals

The Business Management Department, with the collaboration of the Quality Assurance Committee conducted a seminar for faculty members under the title of “Publishing Papers in Scopus-indexed Databases” on January 26th, 2026, at CUE.

The seminar began with an introductory speech on the role of Scopus in research evaluation. Dr. Abdulsatar Abduljabbar Sultan, Head of the Business Management Department at CUE, presented detailed explanations of CiteScore, SJR, and SNIP, including formulas, examples, and practical applications. A Q&A discussion followed, focused on faculty research needs, journal selection, and academic promotion considerations.

The aim of this seminar is to train faculty members on Scopus journal metrics and their relevance for research, publications, and academic evaluations. Moreover, faculty members increasingly need to publish in internationally indexed journals. Understanding metrics like CiteScore, SJR, and SNIP helps improve research quality and institutional recognition.
