CUE Career Development Office Delivers Six-Session Career Skills Series

The Career Development Office at CUE, led by Career Development Officer Mr. Fadi Odesh, successfully launched a Career Development Skills Series aimed at preparing prospective graduates for the job market and enhancing their employability skills.

The series consisted of six sessions covering essential career and professional development topics:

Session 1: CV/Resume Writing
Students learned how to structure a professional CV, highlight their strengths, and present their qualifications effectively to potential employers.

Session 2: Job Interview
This session focused on interview preparation, helping students build confidence, present themselves professionally, and improve their chances of securing employment opportunities.

Session 3: How to Look for a Job Opportunity the Right Way
Students explored effective job-search strategies, learned about popular job platforms and professional networks, and gained practical guidance on applying for available positions.

Session 4: Professional Communication – Formal and Informal Communication
Participants learned the importance of professional communication in the workplace, including how to write clear, formal, and effective emails and communicate appropriately in different professional settings.

Session 5: Career Launchpad – Real-World Skills for Fresh GraduatesThis session introduced students to essential workplace skills, employability competencies, professional readiness, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills needed for career success.

Session 6: Entrepreneurship and Startup Opportunities
Presented by Dr. Ghaith Al-Abdallah, the final session focused on entrepreneurship principles, startup opportunities, self-employment, and how students can develop the mindset and skills needed to launch successful business ventures.

Throughout the series, students also gained insights into professional networking, LinkedIn and other career platforms, the role of AI in career planning and job searching, organizational culture, conflict resolution, and career self-assessment.

The Career Development Skills Series was designed to complement the academic knowledge students acquire during their studies at CUE and equip them with the practical skills, confidence, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to succeed in their future careers.
