The Catholic University in Erbil hosted a certificate awarding ceremony for participants who successfully completed the A1 Italian Language Course, delivered in partnership with Società Dante Alighieri and funded by the Consulate General of Italy in Erbil. The event took place in the Library Seminar Room, bringing together university representatives, partners, and distinguished guests.

Celebrating Linguistic Achievement
The ceremony recognized both CUE students and members of the public who completed the beginner-level Italian course. H.E. Mr. Tommaso Sansone, Consul General of Italy, and Dr. Nazar Shabila, President of CUE, attended the event and distributed certificates to the graduates.
The Consul General spoke on the growing importance of Italian language skills for future study and career opportunities, underscoring the value of cultural and linguistic exchange in strengthening connections between Iraq and Italy.

Building Cultural and Professional Bridges
This program is part of a broader collaboration between CUE, Società Dante Alighieri, and the Consulate General of Italy in Erbil to promote Italian language and culture in the Kurdistan Region. So far, four online courses have been delivered—three at A1 level and one at A2 level.
By offering these opportunities, CUE provides learners with more than language skills—it opens pathways to international education, cultural understanding, and professional networking.
Looking Ahead
Plans are already underway for the next round of Italian language courses. Details will be announced through CUE’s official media channels once schedules are confirmed.
