CUE Digital Media Students Conduct Scientific Visit to Rudaw Media Network

The Department of Digital Media at CUE made a scientific visit for its students of Digital Media department to Rudaw Media Network on May 20, 2026.

The visit included a guided tour of Rudaw Media Network’s facilities, including television studios, control rooms, news production areas, and digital media departments. Students were introduced to the various stages of media production, content creation, broadcasting technologies, and newsroom operations. Media professionals shared insights into their daily work, industry practices, and career pathways.

Students had the opportunity to interact directly with media professionals, ask questions about industry challenges and opportunities, and gain valuable insights into professional media workflows. The behind-the-scenes tour of broadcasting operations was particularly engaging for the participants.

The visit aimed to provide Digital Media students with practical exposure to a professional media environment and to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice. Students had the opportunity to observe real-world media production workflows, broadcasting operations, and digital content creation processes.

This scientific visit was very crucial for Media Department students because the media industry continues to evolve rapidly. Therefore, it is essential for students to gain firsthand experience and understand current professional standards, technologies, and career opportunities within the field of digital media and broadcasting. As the student of Digital Media, Hawrez Alsalihi, quoted, “This visit helped us understand how our studies relate to the media industry. Seeing the same software and tools that we learn in class being used by professionals gave us a clearer picture of future career opportunities and the practical value of our education.”

The visit supports experiential learning by exposing students to real-world professional environments, helping them become better prepared for future employment and contributing to the development of skilled media professionals.

This visit reflects CUE’s mission of providing students with both academic knowledge and practical experience.
