CUE hosted DAFI Information Session

On October 11, Catholic University in Erbil (CUE) hosted a DAFI (The Albert Einstein German Refugee Academic Initiative) information session. DAFI is a scholarship program for Syrian Asylum seekers and Refugee students to study at universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Coordinated by Qandel, a UNHCR partner, the program is supported by UNHCR and funded by the government of the Federal Republic of Germany, in collaboration with the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Affairs and other UNHCR partners.

The scholarship program gives refugees access to higher education in order to access a number of professional opportunities. By helping these students, the program looks to help countries rebuild with qualified, educated people that will encourage peace and prosperity for future generations. During the session, students interested in applying for the scholarship program were informed about who qualifies for the program, the application process, and the application and admission timeline.
