CUE Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium with Healthcare Experts and Student Engagement

As part of its annual activities, CUE conducted a public symposium titled “Breast Cancer Awareness” with the collaboration of the departments of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Medical Laboratory Sciences on October 29^th, 2025.

The symposium featured keynote speaker Dr. Rewan Hussein Hasan, a breast surgeon, and a panel discussion with Dr. Mehdi Mafakheri, head of the Nursing Department at CUE; Dr. Beshara Habeeb Hanna, medical doctor and teaching assistant at CUE; and Ms. Maryam Rafeeq Mohammed, a third-year nursing student at CUE. It was later followed by question and answer session and some music played by a CUE student named Bahez.

This symposium reflects CUE’s mission to promote knowledge, community awareness, and lifelong learning beyond the classroom. By bringing together healthcare professionals, students, and the public, the university shows its commitment to improving society through education.

It also highlights CUE’s vision of preparing responsible graduates who can contribute to public health and community well-being.
