CUE Hosts Glass Painting Exhibition Celebrating Creativity and Community Engagement

The Catholic University in Erbil (CUE), in partnership with Almahaba Brotherhood Humanitarian Organization – Caritas and the Institute for University Cooperation Onlus (ICU), hosted a Glass Painting Exhibition on September 4, 2025, in the Library Seminar Room. The exhibition marked the successful completion of the glass painting workshop, a program designed to introduce participants—including members of the wider community—to new artistic techniques while fostering creativity and personal expression.
Celebrating Artistic Achievement

The exhibition featured a diverse display of glass artworks created throughout the workshop, showcasing the creativity, dedication, and individual growth of the participants. Attendees had the opportunity to hear personal testimonials from several workshop members, who shared their experiences, the skills they gained, and the confidence they developed through hands-on creative practice.
The event also included a lecture titled “Art and Creativity for Enhancing Psychological Well-being,” which highlighted the therapeutic and emotional benefits of artistic engagement. Participants explored how art-making can serve as a meaningful outlet for self-reflection, stress relief, and empowerment.

A Platform for Public Outreach and Learning
This exhibition carried particular significance as the workshop welcomed external participants from beyond the university community, reinforcing CUE’s commitment to public engagement and inclusive learning. By creating a space where art intersects with community-building, the event encouraged individuals to discover new interests, develop artistic skills, and form supportive networks.

Inspiring New Horizons

Beyond celebrating creative accomplishments, the event underscored the importance of accessible artistic programs in strengthening well-being and broadening personal and professional horizons. The workshop and exhibition offered participants a chance to connect, collaborate, and engage with both the university environment and humanitarian organizations involved in its delivery.
