CUE Hosts “Heart, Hard Work, and Human Rights” Seminar

The Women Empowerment Corner and Social Cohesion Office at CUE conducted a seminar titled “Heart, Hard Work, and Human Rights” in the library seminar hall at CUE on Wednesday, 23 September 2026.
The seminar featured Zinah Mohammed – UK-educated human rights lawyer and social activist, who shared lessons from more than ten years of real-world experience in human rights and legal protection. She discussed her personal career journey, how helping others and working ethically opened professional opportunities, ways to turn legal skills into practical impact, and the importance of working hard while maintaining personal well-being.
The session was particularly relevant to university students as they prepare for their future careers and consider how professional skills can be used responsibly and ethically. It also highlighted the importance of social responsibility, human rights awareness, personal well-being, and contributing positively to the community.
The seminar aimed to inspire students through Zinah Mohammed’s personal and professional journey and to show how legal knowledge, ethical practice, hard work, and a commitment to helping others can be translated into meaningful careers and positive community impact.
The event supports the broader goals of the Women Empowerment Corner and Social Cohesion Office’s broader goal of connecting students with experienced professionals and creating opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. It encourages students to reflect on responsible leadership, human rights, community service, career development, and the positive role they can play in society.
