CUE Marks Its Tenth Anniversary in a Symbolic Commemorative Ceremony
The Catholic University in Erbil (CUE) marked its tenth anniversary with a symbolic ceremony held on December 8, bringing together university leadership, faculty, staff, and students to reflect on a decade of academic growth and institutional development.

The ceremony was attended by His Grace Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and Dr. Nazar Shabila, President of CUE, alongside members of the senior management team. Their presence underscored the significance of the milestone and the shared commitment to CUE’s mission and values.
In addition to commemorating ten years of achievement, the celebration also included the lighting of the university’s Christmas tree, adding a moment of reflection, unity, and festivity to the occasion. The gesture symbolized hope, renewal, and community as the university community gathered to mark both the anniversary and the season.

The event provided an opportunity to honor CUE’s journey over the past decade, recognize the contributions of its faculty, staff, and students, and look ahead to the university’s continued growth. As CUE enters its second decade, the celebration reaffirmed its dedication to academic excellence, service, and innovation in higher education.
