On October 1st, 2022, Dr. Raghad Yousif conducted a seminar titled “Cyber Security Principles. Future Threats and Opportunities”. During the seminar, Dr. Raghad addressed that “Cybersecurity may benefit risk management by preventing cyberattacks, data breaches, and identity theft. An organization is better equipped to stop these assaults when it has a strong awareness of network security and an efficient incident response strategy.” Furthermore, Dr. Raghad also addresses the types of threats that may occur such as Malware that involves an attacker locking the user’s computer system files typically through encryption, an attack that relies on human interaction to trick users into breaking security Procedures (for information gain), and form of fraud where fraudulent emails are sent that resemble emails from reputable sources. Such information is useful for seminar participants to prevent issues and threats that may occur at any time. The department of IT & CS organized this seminar.
