Dominican Delegation Visits CUE to Strengthen the Spirit of Partnership

The Catholic University in Erbil welcomed a delegation from the Dominican Orders on February 8^th, 2026. The delegation was received by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, His Excellency Bishop Bashar Matti Warda. The delegation included Fr. Nicolas Tixier, the Provincial of the Dominican Order of France; Fr. Michel Maliver, the Provincial’s Assistant; and Fr. Majid Maqdisi, Prior of the Dominican Fathers’ Convent in Erbil.

The delegation toured the university campus and learned about the various academic departments currently offered at the university. They also met with a number of the university’s academic and administrative staff and were briefed on the facilities and services provided to students.

It is worth noting that this visit is part of a series of visits through which the university seeks to strengthen the spirit of partnership, dialogue, and academic cooperation among various community, academic, and religious institutions.
