On Friday, 27 August 2021, the Catholic University in Erbil (CUE) held an Open Day Festival for students who are graduating from high schools from different cities and villages in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The festival was held to provide the fresh students with a closer look at the facilities, educational potentials, and scholarship opportunities at CUE.
The festival was attended by His Grace, Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda, the Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of CUE, Dr. Riadh Francis, the President and Vice-Chancellor of CUE, and CUE academic and admin staff.
The event started with a speech by His Grace Archbishop Warda in which he expressed his support for the students throughout their study at CUE, which provides modern teaching and learning experience for every student.
A tour inside the campus followed this to familiarize students with the CUE’s education and entertainment facilities and the different educational departments at the university. Moreover, the students had the chance to meet with the faculty staff, who helped in answering some to their questions and queries.
CUE’s current students and alumni were present at the event to share their experiences with the attendees. The event ended with holding some activities, including competition and dancing, with creating an unforgettable experience
