As Iraq’s foremost academic defender of Christian heritage, the Catholic University in Erbil (CUE) convened a landmark conference on the administration of church endowments and properties, underscoring its pivotal role in strengthening Christian resilience and presence throughout the country.

Italian Consulate and CUE Host Seminar on Interior Design and Fashion

In collaboration with the Italian Consulate, CUE hosted a three-day seminar exploring the intersection of interior design and fashion as tools for cultural expression and innovation. Led by Italian architect Prof. Giovanni Maione, the event brought together students, professionals, and diplomats to promote dialogue, creativity, and international academic collaboration—core values in peacebuilding and human rights education.

International Conference on Religion and Social Peace: Challenges and Prospects

In February 2022, CUE co-hosted its first international conference in partnership with Koya University, bringing together scholars, officials, and faith leaders to explore the role of religion in promoting social peace. With participants from across Iraq and seven countries, the two-day event fostered critical dialogue on coexistence, minority rights, and the challenges of building inclusive societies.

Expanding Opportunities: CUE’s Annual Networking and Recruitment Fair

As part of its efforts to empower youth and strengthen institutional ties, CUE hosted Networking and Recruitment Fairs in 2023 and 2024 with support from the U.S. Department of State. These events brought together dozens of local and international companies, giving students and graduates the chance to build professional networks, explore career paths, and engage directly with employers—advancing social inclusion and economic participation across the region.
