On March 1st – 3rd, 2021, a three-day workshop under the title “Research and its importance to the academicians” was presented by Assist.Prof.Dr. Mohammed Gouse, a lecturer at the IT Department at CUE.
The workshop was attended by CUE’s president along with the university’s academic staff and students.
The workshop contributes to knowledge on how research is important for academicians and the students, and specifically on how such workshops pertain to quality research.
The workshop was discussed according to four perspectives:
- 7 steps to publish a quality article,
- Categories of journals, rank and the impact factor of the journals, H, I-indexes, quartiles, differences between the Scopus and web of science journals.
- Tools of research like Mendeley, Trinka, Grammarly, Turnitin, Plagiarism X, etc.,
- How to write a research article and how to reduce plagiarism.
Finally, the workshop was followed by a discussion part in which Mr.Mohammed answered participants’ questions.
