Seminar: Diabetes Awareness Month

On November 25, 2024, Mrs. Lana Basil, Head of Medical Laboratory Science department at CUE, and Ms. Huda Sherzad, Assistant Lecturer at CUE, conducted a seminar titled “Diabetes Awareness Month”. The Diabetes Awareness Month seminar aimed to educate attendees on the prevention, management, and impact of diabetes. This informative event covered several key topics such as; understanding the types of diabetes, recognizing risk factors, adopting healthier lifestyle choices, effective management, complications awareness, community support and more. Furthermore, the presenters elaborated on the different aspects of each of the key points in further details, highlighting the differences between different types of diabetes, identifying key factors such as genetics and lifestyle, and so on.

The seminar also emphasized the importance of community support and resources available to those living with diabetes.
