A hermeneutic perspective on translation as an interpretive practice.

“On October 5th, 2022, Prof. Dr. Anis presented a seminar titled “A hermeneutic perspective on translation as an interpretive practice.” The seminar covered concepts such as that “Hermeneutics is the science or art of interpreting; it is the discipline concerned with

understanding and explicating what is not immediately intelligible.” Explaining the detailed process of understanding texts and the amount of attention and analysis needed in order to understand texts as authors intend.

The seminar concluded, “in hermeneutics, the translator does not analyze linguistic objects, he or she is confronted with. Rather he analyzes cultures – in a discourse – as texts – with words – carrying sense.”. Furthermore, this session was organized by the department of English language.“
