On Monday, May 31, 2021, all the academic and admin staff of CUE together with Assist.Prof.Dr.Riadh Francis the university’s President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr.Iqbal N.Gorgis, Vice- President for Scientific Affairs, Rev.Father Dankha Joola, the Executive Vice-Chancellor for Administration, underwent an ISO awareness workshop on quality management systems (QMS) which was conducted by Mr.Ramiz A. Mirza, Head of HR Department at CUE.
It was impressive to note that the entire processes requirements are well outlined as guidelines in the various clauses of the ISO 9001:2015 standards. This gives all requirements that need to be fulfilled before an organization can be given the ISO certification and deemed compliant. It is the duty of the staff members to understand these laid out standards and procedures for quality practice.
During the workshop Mr.Ramiz covered the following topics:
1. ISO- International Organization for Standardization.
2. Understanding ISO 90001: 2015 Structure.
3. Quality management principles
4. International Standerd
5. Accreditations and Certification Bodies.
The delivery of the seminar was integrated with examples and there were sufficient discussions within the session to ensure staff members were kept actively involved.
Mr. Ramiz gave thanks to all members of the department for attending. He also thanked the university management for giving him the chance to present such a valuable workshop.
