Seminar: The Impact of Information Quality on Decisions
On November 23, 2024, Mr. Farhad Al-Kake, head of Accounting department at CUE, conducted a seminar titled “The impact of information quality on decisions”, where he spoke about accounting information and how it affects investors decisions.
During the seminar, Mr. Farhad stated that the quality of information in decision-making is crucial for making informed and effective choices. He also highlighted that high-quality information is accurate, relevant, and timely, allowing decision-makers to assess options and potential outcomes with confidence. It reduces uncertainty and bias, leading to better judgment. In contrast, poor-quality information—whether outdated, incomplete, or misleading—can result in flawed decisions that hinder progress or lead to costly mistakes. He concluded that decision-makers must prioritize sources that provide reliable data, critically assess the quality of information, and integrate multiple perspectives to ensure more robust and informed decisions.
