Social Cohesion & Women Empowerment Corner hosted an interactive session titled “Emotional Intelligence for Leaders”

The event was an interactive session where the speaker focused on practical tools on how to build emotional intelligence; it was for one hour and was later followed by a coffee and networking session.

One of the key messages of the session was that emotional intelligence is just as important as other forms of intelligence for effective leadership. Participants learned that leadership is not only about technical knowledge or academic excellence but also about understanding emotions, both their own and others’.

The session highlighted that emotional intelligence is a powerful tool for navigating the social and professional world more effectively. Students gained insight into how emotional awareness improves decision-making, strengthens communication, reduces conflict, and enhances teamwork.

This event is important to raise awareness regarding emotional well-being and navigating the social world through a better quality of emotional intelligence.
Students showed interest in this event as they go through studies and stress, and it is important for them to be able to communicate their needs in a healthy manner. Therefore, it aligns with CUE values and mission since CUE is about supporting students and providing a healthy environment for them, so it’s important to have healthy communication with their teachers and their colleagues. As Suha Abdullah Ahmed, an important guest and project manager at Masalla Organisation, mentioned:
“Emotional intelligence is not an optional skill for leaders; it is essential. The ability to understand and manage emotions determines how effectively we lead, communicate, and build trust within our teams.”
