Società Dante Alighieri Brings Italian Language and Culture to CUE

Società Dante Alighieri (SDA), an authorized institution in Italy, collaborated with CUE to conduct an Italian language course at the campus for the duration of January 22^nd until April 9^th.

The course is considered unique in that it is delivered by SDA, an authorized institution in Italy. Founded in 1889 by Giosuè Carducci and other Italian intellectuals, the Società Dante Alighieri is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and spreading Italian language and culture globally. Operating through over 400 branches in 80 countries, it offers Italian language and culture courses, issues the Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri (PLIDA) certification – which facilitates enrollment in Italian universities without a linguistic skill exam and the ability to obtain certain permits in Italy – and hosts cultural events.

The aim of SDA is to provide new cultural learning opportunities in the region and equip people with fundamental information regarding the Italian language. This Italian course is not only for CUE members but also for the public who aim to learn new languages but didn’t have the opportunity before.

By participating in this course, individuals will not only gain linguistic skills but also develop an appreciation for the rich history and traditions of Italy. This endeavor reflects CUE’s commitment to lifelong learning and cultural enrichment, ensuring that everyone has the chance to expand their horizons and connect with diverse cultures.
