The CUE delegation visits the Franciscan University of Steubenville

On May 5 and 6, 2022, under the grant entitled “Support to American-Style Higher Education in Iraq ” awarded by the U.S. Department of State, a delegation from the Catholic University in Erbil (CUE)  headed by Mrs. Vida Hanna, the Director of Public Affairs and Strategic Communications, and Mr.  Scott Lloyd, the Program Director of E-Learning, visited the Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS) in Ohio.

The delegation was welcomed by the president of FUS, Fr. David Pivonka, the Vice-President for  Academic Affairs, Dr. Daniel Kempton, and the Coordinator of Global Academic Partnerships, Dr.  Tiffany Boury. Both parties discussed the various collaboration venues, building on the existing partnership between CUE and FUS. This was followed by a productive meeting with Dr. Richard  Antonine, the Chairperson of FUS’ Nursing program to share views about the Nursing program and the possibility of implementing a similar model at CUE.

Additionally, the delegation met with Dr. Cory Maloney, the Dean of Online Programming at FUS, to go over the existing cooperation between the two institutions for exchanging online courses and enrolling CUE students in FUS online asynchronous courses.

Additionally, Mrs. Hanna presented a CUE shield to the President of FUS, Dr. Pivonka, as a token of appreciation for the joint partnership and the activities being accomplished together.
