The CUE signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International University of Erbil
On June 14th, 2021, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Anwer Dezaey, the President of the International University of Erbil (IUE), visited the Catholic University in Erbil for the purpose of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Anwer Dezaey was welcomed by His Grace, Archbishop Bashar Warda, the Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of CUE; Asst. Prof. Dr. Riadh Francis, the President and Vice-Chancellor of CUE; Rev. Fr. Dankha Joola, the Executive Vice-Chancellor for Administration; Ms. Vida Hanna, the Director of Public and International Relations and other CUE Head of Departments.
In the beginning of the ceremony, the president of CUE gave a short speech stating that CUE is deeply honored by the presence of H.G. Archbishop Bashar Warda and thanked Prof.Ahmad for accepting CUE’s invitation, wishing both universities every success and prosperity.
His Grace, Archbishop Bashar Warda, then companied Prof.Ahmad for a tour around CUE campus where CUE’s esteemed guest expressed his deep admiration about the infrastructure of CUE in general along with its modern and up-to-date facilities.
In addition to signing the MOU, the two sides were engaged in pretty constructive discussions where the two universities assured the importance of furthering collaboration to contribute to developing higher education in the region and on the international scale.
By the end of the ceremony, His Grace, Archbishop Bashar Warda, extended special thanks to Prof. Ahmed Dezay for the interest in signing this MOU, which reflects a genuine desire for advancing higher education in general. From his side, Prof. Dezay expressed his gratitude for having this association, which he assured that will bring upon constructive outcomes.
