The United States Consul General Visiting CUE Campus

On Monday, August 16, 2021, the Catholic University in Erbil (CUE) was privileged by the visit of the newly appointed United States Consul General to its campus.

The delegation from the U.S. Consulate in Erbil, headed by His Excellency, Mr. Robert Palladino, the new Consul General (CG), was welcomed by His Grace, Archbishop Bashar Warda, the Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of CUE, Rev. Fr. Dankha Joola, the Executive Vice-Chancellor for Administration, Asst. Prof. Dr. Iqbal Gorgis, the Vice-President for Scientific Affairs of CUE, and Ms. Vida Hanna, the Director of Public and International Relations.

During the meeting, Archbishop Warda briefly introduced CUE, its mission and vision, and elaborated on the importance of the university in representing diversity in the region. He also shed light on the university’s achievements with the assistance of the USAID and the Department of State. From his side, Mr. Palladino was impressed by the excellent work that CUE is making and praised its role in community development programs. 

Following the meeting, the delegation was taken on a tour around the CUE campus, where there, was made acquainted with the university’s sophisticated teaching facilities and modern buildings. 

In the end, his Excellency, Mr. Palladino, expressed his excitement for the future of the CUE and assured that the U.S. Government would make sure to support such an institution for the various benefits it delivers to society.
