Women Empowerment Corner at CUE Organizes Leadership Seminar with Hazha Ozeiry

The Women Empowerment Corner at CUE conducted a seminar titled “Women, Leadership, and International Organizations in Kurdistan” presented by guest speaker Ms. Hazha Ozeiry, Director of the International Organizations Department, Kurdistan Region Department of Foreign Relations, on May 3rd, 2026. The seminar featured a keynote talk by Hazha Ozeiry, who shared her professional experience in international relations and diplomacy. She discussed the role of international organizations in the Kurdistan Region and highlighted how these organizations collaborate with local institutions. A significant portion of the session focused on the role of women in society, addressing challenges women face and strategies for overcoming barriers to reach leadership positions. The event concluded with a coffee session, allowing students and staff to engage directly with the speaker in an informal setting.

The main objective of the seminar was to provide students with insights into the role of women in society and leadership, as well as to deepen understanding of how international organizations operate within the Kurdistan Region.During the seminar, Ms. Hazha Ozeiry influenced the audience with her speech regarding women’s leadership as she quoted, “Women have the ability to lead and create change, but it requires persistence, confidence, and courage.” The seminar provided students with direct exposure to a high-level practitioner, enhancing their academic learning with real-world experience. It also inspired students, particularly women, to pursue leadership roles.
