You Owe Yourself to Become Successful One Day
When life brings you in situations that make you feel lost, but God has other plans for you. Plans that you have never imagined.
Inas Abdulkareem, originally from Telesqof, is in the 4th stage of Medical Laboratory Science Department (MLS) in the Catholic University in Erbil (CUE). Despite facing challenges such as being forced to stay home for two years due to ISIS corruption after completing 9th grade, Inas never lost her passion for learning. She made the decision to continue her education by moving to Duhok before returning to Telesqof to finish her studies. After graduating from 12th grade, Inas encountered another obstacle with a two-year break from education due to financial constraints and the difficulty of traveling alone as a girl to stay in Duhok dorms.
One day, Inas came across a link about the Catholic university offering scholarships for students. She decided to take a chance and apply. She told herself, “Either I will be accepted or not, I will try my luck”.
Inas’ choice of MLS department was not decided previously. She remembers coming here with her cousin, and it was her first time being in Erbil. She came to the university and filled out the form without even deciding what major she wants. They just explained a few things for her at the same moment of filling out the form. Now, there she is at the fourth stage.
Inas talked about the various opportunities here in Erbil and how much they were important:
There are a lot of opportunities here in Erbil. She joined many church activities throughout her study years here. Even in the university, she became a volunteer in many activities and participated in many workshops. These things added a lot of growth to her personality. She mentioned that cultural diversity in CUE is very huge; each person she talked to had a different story. Therefore, the moment she came to CUE, she decided not to let go of the opportunities.
Inas’s message is simple, she believes that everyone owes it to themselves to become successful one day. Although life can be difficult, but it should be lived to the fullest while being young, before regret catches up.
